Although it has long been no longer a "Hot Trend" in the world coffee market, in Vietnam, Decaf coffee still seems to be quite strange to the majority of customers.
So what is Decaf Coffee? Who is it suitable for and what is so special about it?
Decaf coffee is an abbreviation of the English word decaffeinated coffee, meaning coffee that has had at least 97% of caffeine removed before roasting and grinding.
The nutritional value of this coffee will be almost the same as regular coffee, the biggest difference lies in the caffeine content. This is considered the solution for people who have problems when consuming caffeine.
An average cup of regular coffee contains about 70-140mg of caffeine, depending on the type of coffee and brewing method. Meanwhile, in each 180ml of decaf coffee will only contain about 0-7mg of caffeine.
Decaf coffee will be very suitable for people who are sensitive to caffeine, significantly limiting phenomena such as:
- Insomnia.
- Jitter.
- Heart beats fast.
- High Blood Pressure.
- Heartburn.
Most company use poor quality coffee to make Decaf coffee. Not to mention during the decaffeination process, some flavor compounds in coffee are also accidentally removed.
Therefore, this type of coffee is not appreciated for its quality by consumers.
